Consulting and Sales

Director of Consulting – Network Optimization
Establish, grow and lead the emerging FORTE network optimization consulting practice.  Work with clients to pinpoint the most efficient means to achieving their bottom-line objectives by driving costs out of distribution and maximizing customer service levels.  Develop new consulting engagement leads, and partner with Sales to close.  Travel up to 70%.  Position could be done remotely.

Ideal Candidate: Entrepreneurial, self-starter with at least 10 yrs. of experience in network analysis and implementing network improvements and 3-5 years of internal or external consulting experience with senior executives. Must be able to personally manage and execute consulting engagements and have the ability to build and operate a profitable consulting practice.  Must have ability to connect to the customer with their personal presence and presentation backed by experience and facts.  Strong recruiter and developer of consultant team.

Principal/Senior Consultant
Perform the consulting engineering directly related to distribution process re-engineering, material handling automation and information systems (WMS). Conduct quantitative analysis of material flow, information flow analysis, facility throughput, operational productivity, product mix and profiles, and cost/benefit of existing methods of client operation. Develop practical, proven material handling and information processing solutions. Participate in sales calls to provide technical expertise. Frequently make presentations to and interact with customers at all levels. Travel ~25%.

Ideal Candidate: Demonstrated skills in DC operations, material handling, racking, shelving, data analysis, sorting, sortation, customer relationship building, negotiating, and presentations. Experienced in business process improvement is a plus. The position can be remote for the right candidate.

VP/Regional Sales Director: Midwest and East Coast
Business development, marketing and sales of distribution-related consulting engagements, facility upgrades, software implementations and design/build projects to growing companies and FORTUNE 500 organizations. Frequent interface with senor level executives. Collaborate with internal consulting and engineering departments to continually deliver valued services to our customers.

Ideal Candidate: Excels in consultative sales. Operations or engineering experience in automated material handling and distribution centers. Knows how to develop and nurture leads or take pre-qualified leads to a high close ratio. Excellent verbal communications skills and demonstrated ability to work with senior executives throughout the decision making process.

Project Management and Engineering

Senior Electrical Controls Engineer
Hands-on control system design and development of large, automated conveyor systems for distribution and manufacturing. This includes field commissioning assistance and troubleshooting of these systems. Partner with internal departments on initial design and throughout implementation. Interface frequently with customers in a technical implementation and sales support capacity. Work on multiple projects simultaneously. Travel up to 40%. Occasional on-call support is required.

Ideal Candidate: 3-5+ years of experience designing electrical control systems for automated material handling systems (conveyors, sorters, merges, etc), writing, modifying and troubleshooting PLC programs. Siemens 7 experience is a decided plus. Requires a BSEE or a 2 year technical degree with proven experience. Must be adaptable/flexible, able to work under pressure, multi-task and pay attention to detail on several projects simultaneously.

Field Installation Supervisor
As the primary point of contact on a job site, the Field Installation Supervisor directs activities in the installation of automated material handling, sorting, and high speed conveyor systems in new, state-of-the-art distribution centers across the United States. This position manages the job site, interacts with the client and with Forte engineers, coordinates with vendors, hires local skilled labor, provides hands-on technical assistance installing conveyors, and helps engineers test, debug, and check out the mechanical and electrical equipment.  Preventive Maintenance is also part of our business, therefore the position requires good mechanical aptitude with the ability to take apart various pieces of material handling equipment for maintenance or repair.

Ideal Candidate: The field installation supervisor must be experienced in the installation of distribution center equipment including high-speed conveyors. Experience supervising others is required, as is a willingness to travel up to 90%. Associates degree or above would be a plus but is not required. Demonstrated project management skills and strong communications skills are a must. Ability to read, understand, and comprehend detailed installation drawings. Ability to organize multiple tasks in a tight time frame is required. Bilingual English/Spanish ability would also be a plus. No relocation is necessary for this high travel position.

Software

Software Developer
Design new products and existing functionality for FORTE’s suite of software. Implement and integrate software with clients’ host system and WMS. Work independently and as part of a team to translate customer requirements into a software solution. Work with internal departments on design issues, select and order all hardware, lead field commissioning, troubleshooting and customer training. Routinely provides sales support. May provide on-call support. Travel up to 25%.

Ideal Candidate: Loves technology! 3-5 years of development experience using .Net, C#. Experience or strong desire to learn agile development methodology is a must. Able to work independently and be a team player. Able to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical customers in person and on the phone

Manager Support and Implementation Services
Lead the Implementation and Support team to meet internal and external customer needs. Participate in sales calls to provide software expertise. Manage multiple projects and lead the development of solutions for custom-designed systems. Lead, select and develop team. Travel ~ 25% and some on-call support as needed.

Ideal Candidate: Demonstrated ability to lead a technical team using agile development methodology. Enjoys developing team members to high performance. Detail oriented with strong documentation skills. Experience using .Net or VB, C#, SQL Server and PLC programming. Strong problem solving skills with mechanical aptitude. Good presentation skills. Able to understand customer needs and communicate technical information appropriately.

Implementation and Support Specialist
Work in two worlds: participate in software development and support software and electrical systems installation at customer sites and provide ongoing customer support. Install and test programs before installation at the site. Use mechanical and technical aptitude and skills to solve customer operations issues over the phone. Travel ~ 40%. Part of 24/7 on-call support.

Ideal Candidate: Experience using .Net or VB, SQL Server and PLC programming. Strong problem solving skills with mechanical aptitude. Enjoys working in a team environment. Stays current technically and develops innovative solutions to a variety of customer needs.
