Supply Chain Network Analysis

FORTE developed our unique Network Analyzer to help clients quickly and cost-effectively identify or confirm a location without necessarily conducting a fully modeled supply chain network optimization. While it does not take into consideration every possible parameter that would be considered in a network optimization, the study does provide the degree of accuracy required for directional strategic decisions - without the heavy lifting required to prepare data and configure a full optimization model.

What does a Network Analysis provide?

  • The location that represents the optimal geographic placement of a distribution center for the data points supplied in the study
  • Point-to-point road mileage from the determined geographic location to all points in the network
  • Estimated transportation savings and achievable improvements in average delivery time from the geographic location identified compared to an existing location
  • Service level map(s) showing the number of days for delivery from the determined geographic location to each point on the map
  • Map depicting weighted product flow from the optimal geographic location to each point on the map

Supply Chain Network Optimization

FORTE can help determine how many distribution centers you need, where they should be located and what size they should be. While there are other approaches to making these determinations, only FORTE offers you:

  • Access to the industry's most distinguished practitioners of network and inventory optimization, FORTE consultants include a professor and department head at the University of Cincinnati, College of Business; the former managing director for supply chain systems, supply chain optimization and streamlining for the world's largest manufacturer of consumer packaged goods; and the former associate director of product supply analytics and supply network design processes for the world's largest manufacturer of consumer packaged goods.
  • A custom approach that doesn't rely on standard network analytics software packages. FORTE's use of custom-configured algorithms applied to standard software engines produces tailored results with cost-effective, re-run capabilities in the future.

The result is an accurate, actionable, customized supply chain distribution strategy tailored for your business.
