FORTE Partners
with University to Expand Network Optimization Services
Taking services
to a higher level with higher education
January 20, 2006—-FORTE recently strengthened its Network
Optimization practice by forming an affiliation with the Center
of Productivity Improvement (CPI) at the University of Cincinnati
(UC). All network optimization projects will now benefit from the
union of both organizations’ analytical and real-world experience.
The CPI is aligned with the UC Quantitative Analysis and Operations
Management Department, a group that has ranked as high as fourth
in America in research productivity. The CPI provides award-winning
modeling and analytical expertise and techniques to a variety of
large and small organizations worldwide. Its members form academic/industry
alliances to promote their research and empower private sector
businesses.
FORTE’s Network Optimization clients will have access to
the CPI’s applied expertise and state-of-the-art tools that
many service providers do not have available. The UC researchers’ cutting-edge
analytical models supplement FORTE’s experience and extensive
knowledge of distribution environments.
“Joining forces with UC has strengthened our Network Optimization
services, augmenting our ability to further optimize our client’s
supply chains through network optimization,” says FORTE's
Director of Marketing. “We are fortunate to have an
accomplished university nearby with such an acclaimed quantitative
analysis department. We can easily collaborate while working with
customers throughout the country.”
FORTE’s staff will include CPI experts Mr. Ted Newton and Dr.
Jeffrey Camm. Dr. Camm specializes in large-scale discrete optimization
modeling and analysis. He is the head of the Quantitative Analysis
and Operations Management Department at UC. Ted Newton founded the
Global Analytics group while serving as Managing Director of Global
Applications with Procter and Gamble. Newton was also CIO for P&G
Asia.
